A Break in the Pattern

Seeing as how I've reached max 'gear level' in Terraria - not to mention that my last two posts have been almost exclusively about the game - I decided to take a brief break from that wonderful 2D world to pick up a game I'd been neglecting in exchange for monster killing, gear looting, cave exploring goodness.

I played Team Fortress 2 on and off throughout the day, with breaks in between for walks through the snow machine trails that snake behind my house. They're great for pleasant walks or light running (they're surprisingly flat) on decent days, and it's always nice to take small breaks from gaming when it's as beautiful as it was yesterday.

Speaking of running, most of my playtime yesterday consisted of me taking on the role of the Scout. For those of you who don't know or play TF2, the Scout is a class focused on speed and mobility over direct power - though his scattergun does a lot of damage if you can get in close enough to use it. That's where the speed and mobility comes in. You can take routes that other classes can't, and run so quickly across firing lines that it's hard for your adversaries to actually hit you. On top of this, your primary goal (at least on capture the flag maps, which I was playing) is to work with your team to capture the intelligence. Your increased speed and ability to double jump can get you away cleanly where other classes would just get blown to smithereens.

"Oh that's beautiful."

In other news, the Rapture has come and gone in a lot of the world and it looks like nobody has ascended. Go figure...and here I was hoping that we were going to have some kind of Jesus-raised zombies walking about. Oh well, can't win them all.

  1. TF2 is great. Although I prefer Portal and HL. :)
Hehe, rapture. Too bad. I was beginning to ask christians for their stuff since they wouldn't need anything anymore. :P
